\n“I can’t be tellin’ you, Father. I don’t want to ruin her reputation.”
\n“Well, Tommy, I’m sure to find out sooner or later, so you may as well
\ntell me now.
\nWas it Brenda O’Malley?”
\n“I cannot say.”
\n“Was it Patricia Kelly?”
\n“I’ll never tell.”
\n“Was it Liz Shannon?”
\n“I’m sorry, but I’ll not tell her name.”
\n“Was it Cathy Morgan?”
\n“My lips are sealed.”
\n“Was it Fiona McDonald, then?”
\n“Please, Father, I cannot tell you.”
\nThe priest sighs in frustration. “You’re a steadfast lad, Tommy Shaughnessy, and I admire that. But you’ve sinned, and you must atone. Be off with you now.”
\nTommy walks back to his pew. His friend Sean slides over and whispers,
